AGM 

Every year in September Pre-school holds an annual AGM to give the charity officers the opportunity to explain their management of the charity to all new parents to the setting. Any changes in committee members will be discussed and voted upon at the meeting and there will be discussions about all the ways you can get involved in support your Pre-school from joining the committee to baking cakes for sale at an event.

The AGM is your chance to get involved and have your say.  It is the main time of the year when a new committee will be elected from people putting themselves forward.  It is the time to get involved and have your say on how the pre-school is run.

Letter to parents

Dear Parents, Grandparents, Guardians and Carers,

As the Chair of the Bugbrooke Village Preschool Management Committee, I would like to welcome you to our pre-school and let you know some of the ways in which you can help.

Bugbrooke Village Pre-school is a not for profit organisation overseen by an Executive Committee of up to 12 trustees comprising parents, staff and community members.  The committee’s main duties are to ensure it operates in accordance with its constitution as a charity, to keep pre-school policies under review, plan for any future changes to pre-school, review and act on outcomes from Ofsted reports and respond to parental feedback. The Committee meets every month to discuss current issues/plans, fundraising and to review pre-school policies. We also have a very important subcommittee for fundraising who plan fun activities and events that help us raise much-needed funds to cover the costs of running the pre-school to such an amazing standard.

A number of our committee will be standing down at the next AGM as their children have moved on to school and we would like to extend an invitation to any parents/grandparents/carers who would be interested in becoming more involved in their child’s pre-school to come along to learn more about how you can help.  We heartily recommend you join the Committee, as it is an ideal way to get to know more about pre-school, meet other parents and feel part of a community. Plus, there’s always tea and biscuits!

No previous experience is necessary and you can choose your level of commitment based on the time you have to spare. If you are interested then please get in touch via email  to bugbrookepreschool@yahoo.co.uk

Alternatively, if you feel your talents lie in finding ways to raise money, we would love to have you on the fundraising team, who meet regularly to manage our essential fundraising projects.

Fundraising

We have a very important subcommittee for fundraising (no limit on numbers) which works hard to raise the money needed to cover the costs of running the preschool and to fund any major projects. As a Charitable Organisation, it is important to have your support in our fundraising activities so that we can keep offering a high level of Early Years Education to your children. This can be by coming to our events, donating any spare resources you or your employer may have (e.g. wipes/craft materials/outdoor resources), by asking your employer about community policies such as sponsorship matching or using our fundraising affiliates for online shopping:

If you have any ideas on fundraising events, and/or would like to become involved in the Fundraising team, feel free to approach any member of the Committee, the Business Manager or Pre-School Manager for details on how to do so.  New ideas are always welcome and your support will benefit your child during their time at preschool.
