This involves providing children with opportunities to develop a strong grounding in numbers to excel mathematically. We encourage the children to be confident by ‘having a go’ in counting by providing frequent and varied opportunities to see relationship between numbers and patterns. We also encourage spatial reasoning skills by using shape, space, and measure.
